Deutsch Schreiben respects copyright and expects its users to do the same. Learners can send us content — texts and photos for the AI tutor, screenshots and messages in problem reports — and we respond to notices of claimed copyright infringement under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA, 17 U.S.C. § 512) and similar laws.
Reporting copyright infringement
If you believe content on Deutsch Schreiben infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent (below) that includes:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- a description of the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
- where the material is in the app (for example the lesson, screen or a link), in enough detail for us to find it;
- your name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for the owner.

What happens next
When we receive a complete notice, we remove or disable access to the material promptly and tell the user who provided it, if we can identify them.
Counter-notice
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same address with: your signature; the material that was removed and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and phone number; and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, outside the US, any judicial district where we may be found) and will accept service from the person who sent the original notice. Unless the complainant tells us they have filed a court action, we may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after receiving a valid counter-notice.
Repeat infringers
We close, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe others' copyrights.
